Fri, Aug 29 137 is the second album from alternative rock band Pineapple Thief. It´s an improvement over the somewhat flawed debut which I gave a small 3 star rating. It´s not a bad album but pretty average alternative rock. 137 is a bit more experimental without leaving commercial territory though.

Thumbnail Last Week, Progarchives.com, the ultimate progressive rock music website says (in RADIOHEAD - In Rainbows (2007)) Reckoner My least favorite song of the album. Vocally I think it's just a bit too much. It just doesn't have anything special. Not bad nor very good.

Jigsaw Falling Into Pieces The most haunting track of the album. And you hear Radiohead is just really good at stuff like that.

Thumbnail And Progarchives.com, the ultimate progressive rock music website says (in Opinion: RADIOHEAD - In Rainbows (2007)) At this time of their career, it seems that “Radiohead” didn’t have much to say nor prove. No real break through here. Just another “Radiohead” album. Of course, the ambient and boring (but that’s only my opinion) atmosphere from “Kid A” and its clone “Amnesiac” are almost gone, but very few s...

Thumbnail 2 Weeks Ago, Progarchives.com, the ultimate progressive rock music website says (in RADIOHEAD - In Rainbows (2007)) While there is not a bad song on the album, the highlights are Faust Arp (soft, lush, yet with an insistant vocal), Videotape (Yorke's mournful piano drives the songs sense of regret and hope), Reckoner, and House Of Cards. The only weak areas are Bodysnatchers (the jangly guitar and rapid...

3 Weeks Ago, Progarchives.com, the ultimate progressive rock music website says (in Opinion: WHEREAREYOULIAM? - Case of Liquid Melancholy (2008)) So, WAYL started as indie/alternative band, and even more, they've recreated (or just preserved) this attitude for their debut LP, which is entirely instrumental. There are few ways to describe it (like 'Math- Rock with melodies instead of signatures' or 'OCEANSIZE jams with early TOO...

And Progarchives.com, the ultimate progressive rock music website says (in Opinion: RADIOHEAD - Hail to the thief (2003)) My preferred albums from “Radiohead” so far were their debut “Pablo Honey” and their more famous “OK Computer”. I’m afraid that “Hail To The Thief” doesn’t reach these levels.

As a source of inspiration, the great “Echo & the Bunnymen” have always pleased me a lot more and as a follower,...

Thumbnail 2 Months Ago, Progarchives.com, the ultimate progressive rock music website says (in Opinion: RADIOHEAD - Ok Computer (1997)) OK Computer is the third album from experimental british rock band Radiohead. It´s one of the most influential rock albums of the nineties and it´s been sold in millions of copies. There are lots of different opinions about the progressive status of Radiohead, but I have always regarded OK...

And Progarchives.com, the ultimate progressive rock music website says (in Opinion: RADIOHEAD - The Best Of (2008)) My favourites: High and Dry, Just, Street Spirit, Knives Out and There There A surprise: i didn`t know there was a video from the old Pop is Dead

Highly recommendable for Radiohead fans, just nice and recommendable for any prog fan who is not a Radiohead hater nor narrow minded.

3 Months Ago, Progarchives.com, the ultimate progressive rock music website says (in Opinion: RADIOHEAD - The Bends (1995)) While “Pablo Honey” was a solid rocking album almost all the way through, “The Bends” holds lots of quiet songs which balance nicely the more upbeat ones, but do not really move me (Bullet Proof, Street Spirit). I have the same feeling with bands like “Muse” or “Placebo”. I prefer their kille...

Thumbnail 4 Months Ago, Progarchives.com, the ultimate progressive rock music website says (in Opinion: RADIOHEAD - Pablo Honey (1993)) But to reduce “Pablo Picasso” to “Creep” is not fair. There are several great rock tracks like the punkish “How Do You”. Seriously Pistols oriented. But I can understand that this one is not so popular on PA…But the band didn’t ask for their inclusion here, so…
